Claim of US Patent No. 9,860,949

1. An apparatus, comprising:
at least one controllable switch electrically connected between an input signal and an output, wherein the input signal can
be either a DC input signal or an AC input signal;

a receiver configured to receive a dimming signal, the dimming signal being electrically distinct from the input signal, and
transmit a dimming control signal;

where the input signal is selected from a list consisting of: a DC input signal, and an AC input signal; and
logic configured to accept the dimming control signal and transmit a switch control signal at a frequency of 200-20,000 Hz
when the input signal is a DC input signal or transmit a switch control signal at a frequency of 600-20,000 Hz when the input
signal is an AC input signal,

wherein the switch control signal controls the at least one controllable switch to generate a modified power signal output
at output terminals to power and dim a separate, downstream light source generally considered to be non-dimmable with conventional
dimmers.
