1. A fire hydrant monitoring system for a fire hydrant having a barrel including an open interior, the fire hydrant monitoring
system comprising:
a housing configured for connection to an exterior surface of the barrel and having a sensing chamber inlet in communication
with the open interior of the barrel;

a controller located in the housing; and
at least one electrode connected to the controller and located in the sensing chamber;
