1. A method of wireless communication of a base station, comprising:determining to change from a first beam to a second beam;
generating a beam change instruction to indicate the determination to change from the first beam to the second beam;
transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), the beam change instruction in a downlink control information (DCI); and
determining whether or not the beam change instruction is detected by the UE, wherein the determining whether or not the beam change instruction is detected comprises:
receiving an uplink transmission from the UE, the uplink transmission associated with the DCI and indicating that the beam change instruction is received and that a data transmission is successfully received, wherein the uplink transmission includes a beam change demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence or a tri-state indicator.
