Claim of US Patent No. 10,993,051

1. A method for transmitting a target sound to a listener, comprising:receiving microphone signals including the target sound from microphones;
processing the microphone signals using a neural network to produce a processed signal including the target sound, the neural network including a linear signal processing path and a nonlinear signal processing path, the processing including using the nonlinear signal processing path to increase a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for the target sound and using the linear signal processing path to decrease distortion of the target sound;
producing an output signal including the target sound using the processed signal; and
producing an output sound based on the output signal using a speaker.
