Claim of US Patent No. 10,893,495

1. A system comprising:a transmitter configured to:
transmit, via a channel, a plurality of frames that are comprised of a plurality of symbols including a preamble and one or more data symbols; and
transmit, via the channel, a second plurality of frames that are comprised of a second plurality of symbols including a perturbed preamble and one or more second data symbols;
a receiver configured to:
receive a plurality of sequences of samples generated by the channel in response to the plurality of frames transmitted by the transmitter, wherein, for individual ones of the plurality of sequences of samples that are received, the receiver is configured to determine a probability vector assigning probabilities to the sample of a respective sequence that identify the probability that a respective sample corresponds to a particular symbol of the frame;
determine, for individual ones of a plurality of second sequences of samples generated by the channel in response to transmission of corresponding ones of the second plurality of frames, a second probability vector assigning probabilities to the samples of a respective second sequence that identify the probability that a respective sample corresponds to a particular symbol of the corresponding frame; and
receive an indication of the sample of the respective second sequence that corresponds to the particular symbol of the corresponding frame;
at least one processor configured, for each of the plurality of sequences of samples received by the receiver, to:
determine one or more updated parameters of a frame detector of the receiver, wherein the updated parameters of the frame detector of the receiver are based on the probability vector and an indication of the sample of the respective sequence that corresponds to the particular symbol of the corresponding frame; and
determine one or more updated parameters of a preamble generator of the transmitter that provides the preamble for transmission over the channel based on the second probability vector and the indication of the sample of the respective second sequence that corresponds to the particular symbol of the corresponding frame, wherein the transmitter and the receiver are reconfigured based upon the one or more updated parameters of the transmitter and the receiver, respectively.
