Claim of US Patent No. 10,770,814

1. An electrical connector assembly comprising:a first electrical connector comprising:
a housing having a front surface, a rear surface opposite the front surface, a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface; and
a first mating interface and a first mounting interface, wherein the first electrical connector comprises a first plurality of leadframe assemblies, each of the first plurality of leadframe assemblies comprising:
a dielectric portion, and
a plurality of electrical contacts held in a column by the dielectric portion, each of the electrical contacts comprising a mating end positioned at the first mating interface and a mounting end positioned at the first mounting interface and each of the electrical contacts in the column being configured such that the mating end is positioned a different distance from the mounting end,
wherein the first mating interface occupies a sub-portion of the front surface that is adjacent to the top surface, and the first mounting interface occupies a sub-portion of the bottom surface that is adjacent to the rear surface; and
a second electrical connector comprising:
a second mating interface and a second mounting interface, wherein the second electrical connector comprises a second plurality of leadframe assemblies, wherein the second mating interface is configured to mate with the first mating interface, and each of the second plurality of leadframe assemblies comprises:
a dielectric portion; and
a plurality of electrical contacts held in a row by the dielectric portion, each of the electrical contacts comprising a mating end positioned at the second mating interface and a mounting end positioned at the second mounting interface and each of the electrical contacts in the row being configured such that the mating end is positioned a same distance from the mounting end.
