1. An article comprising at least one non-transient machine-accessible storage medium having stored thereon instructions that when executed by a machine enable the machine to:authenticate a user to a processor-based host, via a third credential, to determine a user authentication status;
authenticate the user to a processor-based first service provider via (a)(i) the user authentication status, (a)(ii) a first credential that is unequal to the third credential, and (a)(iii) a first out-of-band (OOB) communication;
authenticate the user to a processor-based second service provider via (b)(i) the user authentication status, (b)(ii) a second credential that is unequal to either of the first and third credentials, and (b)(iii) a second OOB communication;
in response to a timed-out session with the first service provider, re-authenticate the user to the first service provider without re-authenticating the user to the host.
