Claim of US Patent No. 10,602,624

1. A foldable device comprising:a first housing portion;
a second housing portion;
a hinge structure joined to the first housing portion and the second housing portion to permit the foldable device to be folded along an axis between an open mode and a closed mode, wherein the hinge structure is configured as a touch sensor;
a plurality of touch sensors disposed along the first housing portion and the second housing portion;
a module implemented at least partially in hardware and configured to:
determine touch sensor physical proximity between the plurality of touch sensors disposed along the first housing portion and the second housing portion;
responsive to the touch sensor physical proximity not being less than a threshold, determine that the foldable device is in the open mode and cause the foldable device to be operated in a single sensor mode; and
responsive to the touch sensor physical proximity being less than the threshold, determine that the foldable device is in the closed mode and cause the foldable device to be operated in a cumulative sensor mode, wherein the cumulative sensor mode corresponds to at least two touch sensors of the plurality of touch sensors other than the hinge structure being combined and mapped to one or more gestures, wherein at least one gesture of the one or more gestures utilizes the hinge structure.
