Claim of US Patent No. 10,368,342

1. A channel coding method in a user equipment (UE) comprising:generating a set of bits associated with feedback information, wherein the feedback information comprises one or more acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) bits;
on a condition that transmission of the feedback information coincides with transmission of a scheduling request (SR), appending an SR bit to the set of bits associated with the feedback information;
jointly encoding the set of bits associated with the feedback information and the appended SR bit into jointly encoded control information bits;
scrambling the jointly encoded control information bits to generate scrambled control information bits;
modulating the scrambled control information bits to generate modulated symbols;
determining an orthogonal sequence index;
spreading the modulated symbols block-wise using at least one orthogonal sequence indicated by the orthogonal sequence index; and
transmitting the block-wise spread modulated symbols associated with the jointly encoded control information bits on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).
