Claim of US Patent No. 10,342,162

1. A method performed by data center management software executing on at least one computer, comprising:monitoring each of a plurality of fans used to dissipate heat generated by one or more servers in a data center to obtain data that indicates how an actual rotational speed of each of the fans as determined by a fan speed sensor relates to a target rotational speed of each of the fans;
comparing the obtained data to reference data that indicates, for each of the plurality of fans, how an actual rotational speed of the fan relates to a target rotational speed of the fan in a substantially pressure-neutral environment;
based on the comparison, determining that a pressure anomaly exists in the data center; and
based on the determination that the pressure anomaly exists in the data center,
modifying a manner of operation of one or more of:
at least one of the fans; and
at least one of the servers.
