Claim of US Patent No. 10,194,097

1. An apparatus configured to stitch source images according to a first stitching quality, the apparatus comprising:two or more cameras characterized by two or more corresponding fields of view (FOVs), the two or more corresponding FOVs being characterized by at least one overlapping region;
a processor apparatus; and
a non-transitory computer readable medium in data communication with the processor apparatus and comprising one or more instructions which when executed by the processor apparatus, cause the apparatus configured to stitch source images to:
obtain two or more images from the two or more cameras;
identify the at least one overlapping region of the obtained two or more images;
post-process the obtained two or more images to create a post-processed image in accordance with the first stitching quality having a first confidence metric; and
store the post-processed image and one or more information associated with the identified at least one overlapping region, where the one or more information associated with the identified at least one overlapping region enables a re-stitch of the obtained two or more images in accordance with a second confidence metric, the second confidence metric being different than the first confidence metric.
