(E) adhering the tube main body to an outer surface of the foam sleeve so as to form a tubular knitted upper;
(F) placing the shoe last together with the tubular knitted upper in an oven for heating;
(G) removing the shoe last together with the tubular knitted upper from the oven;
(H) adhering a sole to a bottom side of the tubular knitted upper; and
(I) removing the shoe last from the tubular knitted upper.

A modified RNA polymerase sigma factor 70 polypeptide, wherein the modified polypeptide has RNA polymerase sigma factor 70 activity, wherein the modified polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence that has at least 90% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8, wherein an amino acid corresponding to position 579 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8 is substituted with arginine, leucine, threonine, isoleucine, glycine, proline, or serine in the amino acid sequence of the modified polypeptide;wherein the modified polypeptide is able to increase L-threonine production in a microorganism comprising the modified polypeptide; and
wherein the modified polypeptide further comprises one to six mutation(s) of an amino acid corresponding to positions selected from 440, 446, 448, 459, 466, 474, 477, 484, 496, 498, 509, 527, 567, 569, 576, 599 and 612 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8.

A method for treating cataplexy or excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy in a patient in need thereof comprising delivering to the patient a formulation comprising a sustained release portion comprising about 500 mg to 12 g of at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient selected from gamma-hydroxybutyrate and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, wherein:the sustained release portion comprises a functional coating and a core, the functional coating is deposited over the core;
the core comprises at least one pharmaceutically active ingredient selected from gamma-hydroxybutyrate and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of gamma-hydroxybutyrate;
the functional coating comprises one or more methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate co-polymers that are from about 20% to about 50% by weight of the functional coating; and
the sustained release portion releases greater than about 40% of its gamma-hydroxybutyrate by about 4 to about 6 hours when tested in a dissolution apparatus 2 in deionized water at a temperature of 37° C. and a paddle speed of 50 rpm.
