osmotically driving forward osmosis permeate from the forward osmosis feed solution chamber through the forward osmosis membrane thereby forming diluted forward osmosis draw solution in the forward osmosis draw solution chamber of the forward osmosis section;
providing a membrane distillation feed solution to the membrane distillation feed solution chamber of the membrane distillation section of the forward osmosis membrane distillation module;
passing the membrane distillation feed solution through the membrane distillation feed chamber and thermally driving membrane distillation permeate through the membrane distillation membrane thereby forming membrane distillation permeate in the membrane distillation permeate chamber of the membrane distillation section; and
passing within the housing remaining membrane distillation feed out of the membrane distillation feed solution chamber and delivering within the housing the remaining membrane distillation feed solution to an inlet of the forward osmosis draw solution chamber, thereby reusing the remaining membrane distillation feed solution from the membrane distillation feed solution chamber as forward osmosis draw solution in the forward osmosis draw solution chamber wherein the isolation barrier is configured to directly receive, (i) on one side, the membrane distillation feed solution, and (ii) on another side, the forward osmosis draw solution.

identifying a change in flow rate of at least one of the carrier gas, the feed liquid, and the condensing bath liquid in at least one of the humidifier and the condenser that will bring the ideal change in total enthalpy rates of the carrier gas and at least one of the condensing bath liquid and the feed liquid closer to zero; and
generating and sending commands to at least one of the carrier-gas flow controller and the at least one liquid-flow controller to control the mass flow of at least one of the carrier gas, the feed liquid, and the condensing bath liquid to achieve the identified change in flow rate to bring the ideal change in total enthalpy rates of the carrier gas and at least one of the feed liquid and the condensing bath liquid through at least one of the humidifier and the condenser closer to being equal.

sending the overhead vapor product stream from the distillation column directly to the receiver;
introducing an inert non-condensable gas into a loop comprising the isolated suction drum and the heat pump to raise a temperature of the loop to a predetermined temperature;
when the temperature of the loop reaches the predetermined temperature, introducing a portion of the overhead product vapor stream into the loop while reducing an amount of the overhead product vapor stream sent directly to the receiver and replacing the inert non-condensable gas with the overhead product vapor stream forming a circulating vapor stream, wherein the circulating vapor stream remains in the vapor phase in the heat pump;
sending a heat pump discharge to the primary reboiler to provide additional heat to the distillation column;
sending a primary reboiler condensate discharge to the receiver;
reducing the amount of heat to the distillation column provided by the auxiliary reboiler; and
recovering a product from the receiver.

1. A device for assisting a person having insufficient control of one or more hands to strengthen and improve coordination using a sporting element for effectively striking a ball, the device comprising:a pair of gloves designed mechanically attach to a grip or shaft of the sporting element;
a upper bracket having an elongated open-end, and a tube funnel having a hollow interior portion adapted to be secured to the shaft of the sporting element;
wherein the hollow interior portion of the upper bracket houses an upper portion of the grip or shaft of the sporting element;
a fastener for attaching the upper bracket to one of the gloves of the pair of gloves;
a lower bracket having two spaced apart opposing side walls; wherein the lower bracket is C-shaped; adapted to be secured to a lower portion of the grip or shaft of the sporting element;
a fastener for attaching the lower bracket to a second glove of the pair of gloves; and
wherein the upper bracket and lower bracket each have a shape that mate with each other to align the brackets correctly; and an elongated post extending from the upper bracket to aid holding, the grip, or the shaft of the sporting element.

delivering the calculated radiation fluence to the target region with a therapeutic radiation source.

a connector element removably connected within the central passage of the housing and having a second fluid passageway extending along the longitudinal axis of the housing, the connector element movable within the central passage of the housing in a direction along the longitudinal axis between a first position where the first fluid passageway of the multi-use connector is in fluid communication with the second fluid passageway of the connector element and a second position where the first fluid passageway of the multi-use connector is out of fluid communication with the second fluid passageway of the connector element;
a flange formed on the housing and extending around at least a portion of the distal end of the housing; and
a cap removably engaged to the flange,
wherein each single-use connector is slidable relative to the front face of the multi-use connector via a groove on a frame of the multi-use connector in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to align the second fluid passageway of the connector element with the first fluid passageway of the multi-use connector,
wherein the frame includes a shroud configured to envelop the housing and as one of the single-use connectors is slid within the shroud, the cap is removed by the shroud without exposing the distal end of the housing;
wherein each single-use connector comprises a first lock and a second lock, wherein the first lock reversibly locks the connector element of the respective single-use connector in the first position and the second lock reversibly locks the connector element of the respective single-use connector in the second position; and
wherein the first and second locks comprise mating resilient tabs and recesses provided on either the connector element or the housing.

a second, gas-sensitive, receptor layer with positive charge centers, wherein the second receptor layer is comprised of copper phthalocyanine;
an insulation layer;
a substrate;
a drain;
a source;
a channel area located between the drain and the source;
a gate electrode; and
a sensor electrode, wherein the channel area is spatially in connection with the gate electrode and at least the drain, the source and the channel area are arranged within the substrate; wherein the gate electrode is connected electrically conductively to the sensor electrode and an air gap is present between the sensor electrode and the first receptor layer, and the sensor electrode and the first receptor layer are otherwise separated by the insulation layer; and wherein the sensor electrode and the first receptor layer are configured such that an analyte gas flows through the air gap, and the analyte gas is an anesthetic gas.

a device configuration module configured to interact with the respiratory therapy device, wherein the device configuration module is further configured such that responsive to the respiratory therapy device being used in the first therapy mode for at least the first cumulative therapeutic usage threshold amount of time, and the respiratory therapy device being used in the first therapy mode for at least the second successive therapeutic usage threshold amount of time, the device configuration module transmits a command to the respiratory therapy device that causes the respiratory therapy device to switch from the first therapy mode to a second therapy mode, wherein the command further dictates one or more mode parameters of the second therapy mode for the respiratory therapy device, and wherein the one or more mode parameters are determined based on the quality sleep index and the effectiveness of the first therapy mode.
