A method for generating a model of one or more geological structures, comprising:(a) computing a first function for a geological structure, wherein the first function includes a first iso-surface in a transformed coordinate space of an initial coordinate space and generating an initial model of the geological structure having an initial resolution of cells that are divided along the first iso-surface;
(b) detecting if the first iso-surface intersects a set of geological markers within a threshold proximity;
(c) if the first iso-surface does not intersect the set of geological markers within the threshold proximity, correcting the initial model using an induced mesh having an increased cell resolution for computing a second function for the geological structure to improve the accuracy of a location of the geological structure in the initial model, wherein the second function includes a second iso-surface in the transformed coordinate space that intersects the set of geological markers within the threshold proximity;
(d) generating a second model including the second iso-surface, wherein the second model has a locally increased resolution relative to the initial model caused by further dividing cells in the second model along the second iso-surface;
for each new geological structure, repeating steps (a)-(d), using the second model as the initial model; and
displaying a visualization of the second model.

A method for processing a specimen carried by a slide within an automated slide processing system, the method comprising:robotically dispensing a first liquid so as to form a first puddle on the slide, the first puddle having a shape maintained at least partially by surface tension such that the specimen is covered by the first puddle;
robotically sucking most of a free-standing volume of the first liquid from the slide so as to at least partially uncover the specimen; and
after robotically sucking the first liquid from the specimen,
robotically dispensing a second liquid so as to form a second puddle on the slide, the second puddle having a shape maintained at least partially by surface tension such that the specimen is in contact with the second puddle.

a torque detection permanent magnet configured to generate a magnetic flux in a magnetic path including the pair of soft magnetic bodies; and
a torque detection magnetic sensor configured to detect a magnetic field generated between the facing portions,
the magnetic field detected by the torque detection magnetic sensor changing based on a twisting amount of the torsion shaft;
a rotation angle detecting portion including:
a rotating body: (1) configured to rotate by meshing with an external gear configured to rotate together with the shaft, and (2) comprising a large-diameter gear and a small-diameter gear that have different numbers of teeth and mesh with the external gear;
a rotation angle detection permanent magnet fixed to each of the large-diameter gear and the small-diameter gear; and
a rotation angle detection magnetic sensor: (1) configured to detect a magnetic field of the rotation angle detection permanent magnet, and (2) comprising two pieces of the rotation angle detection magnetic sensor corresponding to the rotation angle detection permanent magnet of the large-diameter gear and the rotation angle detection permanent magnet of the small-diameter gear, respectively;
the magnetic field detected by the rotation angle detection magnetic sensor changing based on the rotation angle of the shaft;

A method of making a foamable article, comprisinga) forming a structure of interconnected thermoplastic polymeric members spaced to define openings therebetween, the thermoplastic polymeric members comprising a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the forming step forms the structure as a generally cylindrical shape with an outer surface and an inner surface, and wherein some of the openings extend directly from the outer surface to the inner surface; and
b) heating the thermoplastic polymeric members to a first temperature below a temperature at which the structure collapses to produce softened thermoplastic polymeric members, and infusing the softened thermoplastic polymeric members with at least one inert gas at a first pressure that is sufficient to cause the at least one inert gas to permeate into the softened thermoplastic polymeric members and produce infused thermoplastic polymeric members.

a shank having a head portion with an upper engagement surface and an anchor portion opposite the head portion configured for attachment to the bone, the head portion configured for being positioned within the cavity of the receiver with the shank extending downwardly through the lower opening; and
a compression insert having at least one vertically extending outer alignment groove with an inwardly extending curvate surface and a second protuberant interference surface adjacent the outer alignment groove, the second protuberant interference surface being configured to inhibit as least some rotation between the compression insert and the receiver, the compression insert being configured for top-loading into the central bore in a first position, and then for being moved down within the receiver and rotated about the receiver longitudinal axis into a second position defined by an engagement between the second protuberant interference surface of the compression insert and the first interference surface of the central bore,
wherein the compression insert has radially offset upwardly facing surfaces configured for biased engagement with the downward facing surface of the central bore upon rotation of the compression insert into the second position, so as to apply a downward frictional force on the head portion of the shank prior to locking the assembly with the closure, and
wherein the receiver has at least one inwardly extending integral non-resilient structure positionable into the at least one outer alignment groove of the compression insert upon completion of the compression insert being rotated into the second position.
