(4) a vacuum bag encapsulating the plastic substrate embedded with the IC chip and covered by the sealing cover, whereby the microfluidic structures in the plastic substrate are kept in vacuum state inside the vacuum bag;
wherein the biochip device is ready for detection, and when the vacuum bag is unpacked, the fluidic sample loaded at the inlet region flows through the microfluidic channels by degas-driven flow and to the at least one detection structure at the IC chip and wherein the volume of the fluidic sample flowing to the closed area for collecting the fluidic sample is fixed and predetermined so as to define a given volume of the fluidic sample to be detected.

aligning at least two of the acoustic devices in one or more of a transverse and longitudinal direction relative to the circumferential wall of the container based on the calculated TOFs;
calculating, with the computing device, respective distances between the acoustic devices in each of the first and second circumferential directions based on the respective TOFs and a speed of sound through the wall; and
determining, with the computing device, the volume of the storage container based on the calculated respective distances.

receiving a downlink control transmission comprising control channel information that facilitates scheduling a subsequent data channel transmission, wherein it is unknown by the receiver device whether the subsequent data channel comprises one codeword or two codewords;
determining contextual information related to the subsequent data channel transmission, based on a previous data channel transmission, wherein the contextual information comprises a location of the receiver device relative to a network node device;
predicting a number of codewords that the subsequent data channel transmission comprises based on the contextual information, resulting in a predicted number of codewords, wherein the predicting comprises determining a probability that the number of codewords is two, the determining the probability comprising determining whether the location of the receiver device relative to the network node device is within a defined range; and
decoding the downlink control transmission based on the predicted number of codewords.

a media content stream interface configured to receive a broadcasting media content stream;
a digital video recorder (DVR) that is configured to record a plurality of media content events that are received in the broadcasting media content stream; and
a processor system that:
automatically modifies presentation of an electronic program guide (EPG) to indicate the time period of the scheduled appointment using a scheduled appointment region that overlays media content event information of the presented modified EPG, wherein the scheduled appointment region presented on the modified EPG indicates at least a start time of the scheduled appointment and an end time of the scheduled appointment;
receives a first specification of a first media content event that is to be recorded in the DVR when the first media content event is being received in the broadcasting media content stream, wherein the first specification is received via the modified EPG that is being presented to the user;
receives a second specification of a second media content event that is to be recorded in the DVR when the second media content event is being received in the broadcasting media content stream, wherein the second specification is received via the modified EPG that is being presented to the user; and
determines whether there is sufficient capacity in the DVR to concurrently record the first media content event and the second media content event into the DVR,
wherein the second media content event is recorded when the second media content event is being received in the broadcasting media content stream only when there is sufficient capacity in the DVR to record both the first media content event and the second media content event.

wherein the inheritance information indicates, with respect to an inheritance region, which corresponds to a second block of the video and has associated therewith a second hierarchy level out of the sequence of hierarchy levels according to the multi-tree subdivision information, whether inheritance is to be used for sharing at least one syntax element among a subset of leaf regions that compose the inheritance region, wherein the at least one syntax element represents a coding parameter used in an inter coding process of video coding; and
extracting, from the data stream, if the inheritance information indicates the use of the inheritance, the at least one syntax element corresponding to the inheritance region to be shared among the subset of leaf regions; and
a reconstructor configured for:
copying the at least one syntax element into the set of syntax elements corresponding to each of the subset of leaf regions, each of the set of syntax elements representing coding parameters used in the inter coding process,
determining, for each of the subset of leaf regions, at least one coding parameter to use in the inter coding process for the corresponding leaf region based on the copied at least one syntax element,
determining, for each of the subset of leaf regions in accordance with the inter coding process, a respective prediction signal based on the determined at least one coding parameter and neighboring samples of a reconstructed signal of an already reconstructed leaf region,
decoding, in a residual decoding order, a residual signal for each of the subset of leaf regions, and
reconstructing, for each of the subset of leaf regions, the corresponding first block of the video based on a combination of the respective prediction signal and the residual signal.

generating from the sequence of the live images the multi-view interactive digital media representation, the multi-view interactive digital media representation including a plurality of images, each of the plurality of images including the car from a different camera view such that when the plurality of images is output to the touchscreen display the car appears to undergo a 3-D rotation through the angular view, the 3-D rotation of the car being generated without a 3-D polygon model of the car; and
outputting a value of the angular view of the car captured in the multi-view interactive digital media representation.

one or more second portions of the planar image are encoded at a second quality according to a second one of the plurality of coding parameters, the one or more second portions of the planar image being more proximate to an equatorial line associated with the planar image as compared to the one or more first portions of the planar image, the second quality being greater than the first quality.
