wherein each of the plurality of communication units determines whether data, which is held in a packet received from a previous communication unit, should be processed, the determination being based on the first connection information held by the first storage unit of the communication unit receiving the packet and identification information held in the packet received from the previous communication unit, the identification information having been set based on second connection information held by the second storage unit of the previous communication unit,
wherein the control apparatus, before performing the sequential processing, sets the first connection information of the first storage unit and the second connection information of the second storage unit, based on a logical processing order for the sequential processing, for at least two communication units among the plurality of communication units.

1. A method of providing media segments by a server device to a client device, the method comprising the following steps:receiving, from the client device, a request relating to a first media segment,
transmitting to the said client device the first media segment in response to the request,
identifying, using a push strategy shared with the client device, one or more second media segments to be pushed to the client device which transmitted the request relating to the first media segment,
sending, to the client device, a notification indicating that the server device intends to push the media segments according to the push strategy, and
pushing the identified one or more second media segments to the client device after sending the notification,
wherein a number of the one or more second media segments are identified by the push strategy shared with the client device.
