(ii) charging a solution prepared by adding 23 mL of the sucrose solution and 6.0 mL of nonionic surfactant into a 50 mL polyethylene sealable sample bottle, and adding 1.0 g of a sample of initial toner;
(iii) after adding the sample of initial toner, sealing the sample bottle;
(iv) after sealing the sample bottle, shaking the sample bottle, and then standing the sample bottle still for 1 hour;
(v) after the sample bottle stands still for 1 hour, shaking the sample bottle at 350 spm for 20 minutes with a shaker;
(vi) after shaking the sample bottle with the shaker, transferring the contents of the sample bottle into a vessel;
(vii) centrifuging the contents transferred into the vessel with a high speed cooling centrifuge under the conditions of: a set temperature of 20° C., the shortest acceleration/deceleration time permitted by the high speed cooling centrifuge, a number of rotations of 3,500 rpm, and a rotation time of 30 minutes; and
(viii) after centrifuging the contents, collecting a toner separated at a topmost portion of the centrifuged contents, filtering with a vacuum filter, and then drying with a drier for 1 hour or more.

1. An image forming apparatus that controls execution of an installed application program, comprising:a checking unit configured to check whether a type of the application program which is instructed to be executed is a specific type; and
a control unit configured to allow execution of a job issued by the application program the type of which has been determined as being the specific type, and restrict execution of a job issued by the application program the type of which has been determined as not being the specific type,
wherein said checking unit checks whether a type of the application program is a resident type or a temporary type,

decision operation, the decision operation control unit causes the ejection unit to eject ink using varied pulse waveforms,
confirms that ink is ejected by certain pulse waveform and ink is not ejected by another pulse waveform corresponding to lower
energy than the certain pulse waveform, and decides the amount of the electrical energy to be applied to the energy generation
elements according to the confirmation, and

an acquisition unit configured to acquire information on a number of times of application of the electrical energy to the
energy generation elements,

wherein in response to receiving the instruction by the receiving unit, the decision operation control unit decides whether
to perform or not to perform the decision operation according to the acquired information, in a case where the acquired information
indicates a number of times larger than a threshold number of times, the decision operation control unit performs the decision
operation to decide the amount of the electrical energy and updates the amount of the electrical energy to be applied to the
energy generation elements, the parameter determining unit causes the ejection unit to print the patch on the print medium
using the updated amount of electrical energy, and in a case where the acquired information indicates the number of times
not larger than the threshold number of times, the decision operation control unit does not perform the decision operation
and the parameter determining unit causes the ejection unit to print the patch on the print medium using the amount of the
electrical energy without updating the amount of the electrical energy.

printing, using a print head of the image forming apparatus, the halftone data on the print medium to form a printed image
having a plurality of printed dots; and

determining a characteristic of the image forming apparatus by comparing the plurality of printed dots and the plurality of
simulated dots in the simulated reference image, wherein growing the size of the plurality of simulated dots improves accuracy
of the comparison.

the second image formation mode is classified into a plurality of selection modes based on placement positions and number

the control unit controls the light-emitting points, corresponding to the first image formation mode or the second image formation
mode, based on image data, and

in a case where the user has selected the selection mode, the control unit generates a laser selection signal for the selected
selection mode based on each of the information stored in the storage unit, and causes a plurality of light beams output from
the plurality of light-emitting points based on the laser selection signal to scan the photosensitive member.
