transmitting data, from the wireless device, to the base node, (i) for a period of at least one data service session using only the assigned subcarrier, and (ii) using, for said data transmission, a first modulation scheme on the assigned subcarrier, wherein the first modulation scheme is a single subcarrier narrowband modulation scheme and is different from modulation schemes used, for groups of the subcarriers on said base node, by other wireless devices.

after carrying out a data transmission session, switching the wireless communication device from operating with the first base node to operating with a second base node of the cellular network;
determining power consumption criteria, based on at least coverage enhancement repetitions, associated with at least one second time period containing at least one data transmission on the second base node, wherein said second time period occurs after said first time period and is equal in length to the first time period;
comparing the power consumption criteria, based on the at least coverage enhancement repetitions, associated with the first time period, with the power consumption criteria, based on the at least coverage enhancement repetitions, associated with the second time period;
upon determining, based on said comparison, that the power consumption criteria, associated with the first time period, indicates a lower power consumption than that associated with the second time period, carrying out a cell reselection to the first base node.

A method for transmission of a data packet in a cellular network between a transmitting node and a receiving node, the receiving node being configured to receive data packets from the transmitting node, the transmitting node supporting at least one frequency band composed of a plurality of carriers, the method comprising:transmitting, by the transmitting node to the receiving node, a plurality of data transmissions of the data packet according to a predetermined redundancy level, whereby a first of the plurality of data transmissions is transmitted in a resource area addressed by a scheduling occurrence, and a remainder of the plurality of data transmissions are transmitted in a same resource area as the first data transmission, wherein each data transmission is transmitted on a different carrier;
receiving, in parallel by the receiving node, the data transmissions of the data packet;
determining, by the receiving node, an ability to decode at least one of the received data transmissions based on whether the at least one received data transmission is decodable alone without combination with data of another one of the received data transmissions; and
sending, by the receiving node to the transmitting node, a feedback signal comprising a modification indication indicating whether to modify the predetermined redundancy level based on said determination step.

forwarding at the cellular network said request using a connection tunnel preconfigured according to said access information from the packet gateway node to the remote provisioning server addressed by said access information,
upon reception of said request determining subscription information in the provisioning database based on said authentication identifier at the remote provisioning server,
providing a response message comprising data relative to subscription information through said preconfigured connection tunnel to the identification unit, when subscription information detected,
upon reception of said response message creating based on received data relative to subscription information an identity record and storing said created identity record in memory means of the identification unit.

retrieving from the rule manager identification information indicating the at least one delta encoding package, comprising the steps for the rule manager of:
determining a value of at least one operating parameter, wherein the operating parameter is indicative of a wireless network designated to be used by the wireless communication device,
based on the determined value of the at least one operating parameter, determining at least one delta encoding package,
providing to the bootstrap software identification information indicating the determined at least one delta encoding package,
handing over control to the bootstrap software,
retrieving the indicated at least one delta encoding package from the second storage area,
combining said first firmware and said at least one delta encoding package to a second firmware by way of a differential upgrade, and
starting said second firmware, wherein the rule manager is configured to execute the steps of:
checking for a change of an operating parameter,
in case a change is detected:
determining at least one delta encoding package based on changed operating parameter,
providing to the bootstrap software identification information indicating the determined at least one delta encoding package, and
handing over control to the bootstrap software.

determining of at least one enhanced coverage base station, which is a base station supporting enhanced coverage mode, providing signals sufficient for decoding in enhanced coverage mode,
receiving enhanced coverage system information broadcast from said enhanced coverage base station,
storing data relating to at least one of received enhanced coverage system information broadcast and the enhanced coverage base station,
in case of detection of the jamming condition by the wireless device affecting signals from current first base station:
checking ability to decode signals from said enhanced coverage base station indicated by said stored data for operating in enhanced coverage mode,
in case downlink signals of said enhanced coverage base station are decodable in enhanced coverage, starting operation with said enhanced coverage base station in enhanced coverage mode, and
sending a jamming indication message to a remote server accessible via the cellular network by means of said enhanced coverage base station.
