a first shackle operatively coupled to the lock body and a second shackle coupled to a base, wherein the first shackle includes a first hook, wherein the second shackle includes a second hook, wherein at least one of the first and second shackles is movable longitudinally along the lock body toward the other of the first and second shackles to secure an object between the first and second shackles with the lock body in the locked state, and the at least one of the first and second shackles is movable longitudinally away from the other of the first and second shackles to release the object from between the first and second shackles with the lock body in the unlocked state;
a pawl mounted to one of the lock body and the base; and
a rack mounted to the other of the lock body and the base that is configured to engage the pawl, wherein the pawl and rack are configured to prevent the first and second shackles from moving longitudinally away from one another with the lock body in the locked state;

1. A transportation device accessory, comprising:a locking apparatus configured to secure a transportation device to an object; and
a mounting assembly mountable to the transportation device and to said locking apparatus, said mounting assembly including:
a bracket with a member extending therefrom that is mountable to the transportation device; and
a receiving portion extending from said bracket and removably engaging said locking apparatus, wherein said receiving portion includes a first arm extending upwardly from a first side of said bracket and a second arm extending downwardly from a second side of said bracket opposite said first side, said first and second arms each extending outwardly from said bracket to define a retaining area between said first and second arms and said bracket, said retaining area extending along a central axis along which said first and second arms are spaced a distance from one another, wherein a portion of said locking apparatus is positioned along the central axis when secured in said retaining area by said first and second arms, and wherein said first and second arms define a receiving opening therebetween defining a lateral opening into said retaining area such that said portion of said locking apparatus is positioned laterally through said receiving opening and seated in said retaining area from a direction transverse to said central axis.
