1. A multi-piece shelf for an electronics rack, the electronics rack having a base and at least two vertical posts; the multi-piece
shelf comprising:
at least two side brackets and a removable shelf, the side brackets being separate components from the shelf,
each side bracket having a vertical wall, and a shelf mounting flange, the shelf mounting flange being integrally attached
to and extending laterally from the vertical wall, the vertical walls having a front edge and a rear edge, a post mounting
flange is integrally attached to at least a portion of the vertical wall and extends laterally from the vertical wall in a
lateral direction opposite from the direction that the shelf mounting flange extends from the vertical wall;

the removable shelf includes a substantially planar bottom portion, the bottom portion having a width that is less that the
width between the two adjacent side brackets when the side brackets are attached to adjacent vertical posts, the shelf having
a front edge with a return flange on at least a portion of the front edge, the return flange including a leg that is substantially
parallel to and spaced apart from the planar bottom portion so as to form a gap sufficiently wide to capture a forward edge
of the shelf mounting flange, the shelf having at least two shovel lances formed on the shelf, each shovel lance extending
downward and rearward from a lower surface of the bottom portion, each shovel lance having a locking section that is spaced
apart from the bottom shelf portion; and

wherein each shelf mounting flange includes at least one aperture sized to receive a shovel lance, and wherein when the shovel
lance is located in the aperture rearward sliding of the shelf relative to the vertical wall causes the locking section of
the shovel lance to slide under a portion of the shelf mounting flange and the leg of the return flange to slide under another
portion of the shelf mounting flange, thereby removably securing the shelf to the side brackets.

an end unit comprising an end wall, a first side wall extending perpendicularly from the end wall, and a second side wall
extending perpendicularly from the end wall and forming a corner with the first side wall;

an elongated rail, comprising a first flange and a second flange together forming an L-shaped cross section;
wherein in a first position one end of the rail is seated in the corner, with an end face of the rail against the end wall,
the first flange flat against the first side wall, and the second flange flat against the second side wall;

wherein the first side wall has at least one protrusion abutting an outer edge of the first flange in the first position to
laterally restrict movement of the rail away from the second side wall parallel to the end wall and the first side wall;

wherein the first side wall has at least one tab extending through a slot in the first flange and engaging the first flange
adjacent to the slot on a side of the slot away from the end wall, the tab in the first position preventing movement of the
rail away from the first side wall parallel to the end wall and the second side wall, while permitting movement of the rail
away from the end wall to a second position where the at least one tab aligns with the at least one slot to permit movement
of the rail away from the first side wall; and

wherein the second side wall has a hole aligning with a hole in the second flange in the first position, the aligned holes
receiving a pin preventing relative movement of the rail and the end unit from the first position to the second position.

the base member and having an uppermost edge, and a vertical stub extending substantially perpendicularly upward from a corner
of the base member to an upper end above the uppermost edge of the lateral brace, the vertical stub including a first stub
wall and a second stub wall oriented substantially perpendicularly to each other at the corner of the base frame;

a side frame including a vertical bracket having a first bracket wall and a second bracket wall substantially perpendicular
to the first bracket wall; and

a gusset having a first gusset wall, the first gusset wall having an upper portion and a lower portion in which the lower
portion of the first gusset wall is offset from the upper portion such that the upper portion and lower portion lie in substantially
parallel planes, the upper portion of the first gusset wall attached to the vertical bracket so as to form a first gap between
the gusset and the first bracket wall of the vertical bracket for receiving one of the stub walls of the vertical stub of
the base frame, and a second gap between the second bracket wall and the lower portion of the first gusset wall for receiving
the other of the stub walls of the vertical stub of the base frame;

wherein the base frame, the side frame, and the gusset are assembled together to form a corner of the rack assembly in which
the vertical stub of the base frame is received into the first and second gaps between the side frame vertical bracket and
the lower portion of the gusset.

1. A locking lever for a removable rack rail comprising:
a side member;
a base plate affixed to or incorporated into the side member, the base plate having a longitudinal direction and a lateral
direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction;

a longitudinally facing feature that limits a distance of insertion of the base plate into a slot in a mounting rail;
wherein an end portion of the base plate extends beyond the longitudinally facing feature so as to form part of an end portion
of the rail locking lever that is adapted to be inserted into the slot in a mounting rail;

a body plate pivotably mounted to the base plate so as to be pivotable about a pivot point between a first position and a
second position with respect to the base plate, the body plate having a longitudinal direction that is parallel to the longitudinal
direction of the base plate when the body plate is in the first position and a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal
direction;

a tang extending in the body plate lateral direction from the body plate; and
a finger tab extending from the body plate for actuating the body plate to pivot about the pivot point with respect to the
base plate;

wherein when the body plate is in the first position with respect to the base plate, the tang extends laterally beyond the
base plate so that the end portion of the rack rail locking lever has a size in the lateral direction at least slightly larger
than the size of the base plate end portion, to tend to prevent removal of the end portion from the slot; and

wherein when the body plate is in the second position with respect to the base plate, the tang is at least partially retracted
in the lateral direction with respect to the base plate so that the end portion of the rack rail locking lever has a size
in the lateral direction at least slightly smaller than the size when the body plate is in the first position, to tend to
facilitate insertion of the end portion into the slot.

An electronics rack with an electrically controlled panel, the rack comprising:a base, at least four side walls and a top, the base, sidewalls and top defining an enclosure with an interior, the enclosure having at least one opening in at least one sidewall or the top for accessing the interior of the enclosure;
at least four vertical supports attached to and extending up from the base for supporting the side walls and the top;
at least one panel mounted to the enclosure for permitting controlled access to the interior of the enclosure;
at least two electronically controlled hinges mounted to opposite sides of the panel, each hinge having a hinge axis about which the panel can rotate when the hinge on the opposite side of the panel is unlocked, the hinge axes of the two hinges being parallel to one another, each hinge including a hinge pin that is slidable in a housing between a retracted position and an extended position, a portion of the hinge pin extending out of the housing and into a recess in a hinge cup in the extended position, and wherein the portion of the hinge pin is substantially retracted into the housing and out of the recess in the hinge cup in the retracted position, the housing of each hinge being attached to one of either the panel or the enclosure and the hinge cup is mounted to the other of the panel or the enclosure, each hinge further including an electronically controlled drive mechanism for controlling reciprocation of the hinge pin relative to the housing;
wherein when the hinge pins on the two hinges are in their extended position and in the recesses of the hinge cups the panel cannot be rotated about either hinge axis, and wherein when the hinge pin of one of the two hinges is in its retracted position and the hinge pin of the other of the two hinges is in its extended position, the panel can be rotated about the hinge axis of the hinge that has the hinge pin in its extended position.

a plurality of extensions releasably attached to the backpan side panels and releasably attached to adjacent ones of the plurality of extensions to form an extension assembly extending forwards from the backpan, wherein the extension assembly as an assembly is releasable from and attachable to the backpan, and wherein individual extensions are releasable from and attachable to the backpan and their respective adjacent extensions; and
at least one door removably attached to one of the extensions and movable between a closed position in which the door obstructs access to at least part of an opening defined by front edges of the extensions and an open position in which the door does not obstruct access to an interior of the enclosure;
wherein the at least one door comprises two doors that in their open positions permit access to different parts of the interior, and wherein at least one of the doors is provided with a lock to secure the door in its closed position.
