arranged to split light produced by each of the first and second light sources into a transmitted light beam portion and a
reflected light beam portion; wherein the optical system is arranged to focus the reflected second light beam portion of said
first light beam together with the transmitted first light beam portion of said second light beam to form a first resulting
beam having said intermediate color temperature, and to focus the transmitted first light beam portion of said first light
beam together with the reflected second light beam portion of said second light beam to form a second resulting beam having
said intermediate color temperature, and to combine said first resulting beam and said second resulting beam in a superposition
configuration to form said illumination spot at said intermediate color temperature in a superposition plane of said medical
operative field; and wherein said optical system and said light sources are arranged to modify the size of the illumination
spot at said intermediate color temperature.

a monitoring and control device that controls said light sources so as to modulate said light spectrum in a repeatable modulation cycle without interruption, which cycle comprises a first period of time during which said light spectrum is red-enriched, a second period of time during which said light spectrum is gradually modulated from red to blue, a third period of time during which said light spectrum is blue-enriched, and a fourth period of time during which said light spectrum is modulated gradually from blue to red, wherein said monitoring and control device is configured to detect reception of a signal indicating a human presence in the vicinity of said lighting device, and in response to said signal being detected, said monitoring and control device reinitializes said modulation cycle when said modulation cycle is in said first period of time, or gradually modulates said light spectrum from blue to red during a transient period of time when said modulation cycle is in said second, third or fourth period of time before reinitializing said modulation cycle.

wherein the power supply varies a power supply current supplied to the LED based on whether the first optical filter or the
second optical filter is positioned to filter the white light emitted by the LED;

wherein at least one of the first and second optical filters attenuates a blue component of the white light emitted by the
LED at a wavelength lying in the range 400 nm to 480 nm, a color rendering index of the white light emitted by the LED staying
in a range of 85 to 100;

wherein the transmission coefficient of the first optical filter and the second optical filter is one of 96%±2% for wavelengths
shorter than 700 nm, 83%±2% for wavelengths in the range of 400 nm to 480 nm, and 64%±2% for wavelengths in the range of 400
nm to 480 nm; and

wherein the transmission coefficient of the first optical filter and the second optical filter is 2% or less for a wavelength
in the ramie of 730 nm to 780 nm.

collimation optical systems between each ring of LEDs and said annular facetted mirror having semi-reflective facets.
