direction being directed downwardly, and

a secondary illumination unit having a secondary illumination circuit board with an upper surface and a lower surface, a plurality
of LEDs mounted to the secondary illumination circuit board to project light above the upper surface in a secondary illumination
direction that is generally opposite the main illumination direction, a transparent or translucent secondary tube having a
lower interface region, and electrical supply connectors;

wherein the lower interface region of the secondary illumination unit engages the upper interface region of the main tube
and wherein the electrical supply connectors of the secondary illumination unit electrically engaging with the electrical
supply contacts of the main illumination unit, with the main illumination unit providing illumination in the main illumination
direction and with the secondary illumination unit providing illumination in the secondary illumination direction.

at a first end of the at least two LED linear lamp sections for connecting to a power source, and an electrical connector
on the at least two LED linear lamp sections; and

a joiner unit for mechanically connecting the at least two LED linear lamps sections at their second ends;
wherein the at least two LED linear lamp sections are connected at their second ends to establish electrical connection with
their electrical connectors to form the LED linear lamp assemblage; and wherein the joiner unit comprises an insert with spring
loaded pins, the insert sized to engage with the at least two LED linear lamp sections at their second ends and retain the
two LED linear lamp sections together, with the spring loaded pins being adapted to engage with pin catches on the LED linear
lamp sections.

an engagement mechanism at the second ends of the endcaps, which engagement mechanism will aid in retaining the endcaps into contact with the spaced apart opposing end walls of the lighting fixture to thereby retain the associated LED linear lamp in place in the lighting fixture.

a second input adapted for coupling to a second lamp connection within the lighting fixture;
a third input adapted for coupling to a third lamp connection within the lighting fixture;
a fourth input adapted for coupling to a fourth lamp connection within the lighting fixture;
a solid-state light source operably coupled to the first, second, third and fourth lamp connections;
wherein the first and second inputs directly couple to a first end of the solid-state light source and the third and fourth inputs directly couple to a second end of the solid-state light source;
AC switching circuitry, operably coupled to the inputs;
said AC switching circuitry comprising a first thyrister operably coupled via a first control circuit to the first or second inputs and a second thyrister operably coupled via a second control circuit to the third or fourth inputs; and
wherein the first thyrister is directly electrically connected, without intervening components, to the second thyrister.
