A method of manufacturing a belt which comprises: (1) impregnating a fabric material with a bonding agent in a plastisol to form coated fabric material, (2) applying a plastisol layer(s) between two or more layers of coated fabric thereby creating a belt carcass, (3) continuously feeding the belt carcass into a double belt press which presses the impregnated fabric materials together with the plastisol layer(s) at a pressure of at least 5 psi to produce a preformed fabric carcass while heating the preformed fabric carcass, (4) continuously withdrawing the fabric carcass from the double belt press, (5) disposing a thermoplastic elastomer polyvinyl chloride alloy composition onto the upper and lower surfaces of the fabric carcass, (6) pressing the thermoplastic elastomer polyvinyl chloride alloy composition onto the upper and lower surfaces of the fabric carcass by continuously feeding the fabric carcass into a second double belt press which is maintained at a temperature of at least 340° F. and at a pressure of at least 5 psi, (7) continuously withdrawing a finished belt from the second double belt press, and (8) splicing opposing distal ends of the belt in a stepped splice configuration;wherein each of the plastisol layer(s), and the thermoplastic elastomer polyvinyl chloride alloy composition disposed onto the upper and lower surfaces, are sequentially recessed or advanced at the opposing distal ends of the belt to provide mating ends with abutting layer edges for the splicing in a stepped splice configuration, and wherein step faces are formed within the two or more layers of coated fabric.

said sensor arrangement being configured to detect, at a reference position in the agricultural belt arrangement, said magnetic signal outputted by said magnetizable element when said agricultural belt is in said proper belt alignment as said agricultural belt moves through the agricultural belt arrangement and to read the code to determine a unique identity of the belt;
a circuit configured to output a signal if at least one of:
(a) said agricultural belt moves more than a predetermined amount through the agricultural belt arrangement without the sensor monitoring system detecting said magnetic signal outputted by said magnetizable element; and,
(b) a predetermined amount of time passes without the sensor monitoring system detecting said magnetic signal outputted by said magnetizable element when said agricultural belt is moving through the agricultural belt arrangement;
a field generator arranged in spaced relationship to said agricultural belt; and,
said field generator being configured to magnetize said ferromagnetic material of said magnetizable element in advance of being read by said sensor so as to cause said magnetizable element to generate the magnetic signal detectable by said sensor arrangement.

A draper belt comprising a carry layer, a pulley cover layer, and a reinforcing layer which is situated between the carry layer and the pulley cover layer, wherein the draper belt has a first edge and a second edge, wherein the carry layer includes a plurality of cleats which run from the first edge to the second edge of the draper belt, wherein the cleats are reinforced with reinforcing rods, and wherein the reinforcing rods are adhered to the cleats by:extruding wire strips with an adhesive compound, wherein the wire is comprised of metal to be used in the reinforcing rods;
cutting the extruded wire strips and strips of fabric to specified lengths, wherein the fabric is comprised of the fabric to be used in the cleats;
laying the extruded wire strips onto the fabric strips; and,
curing the fabric strips and the wire, and simultaneously adding steel and rubber composite into a cavity centrally located within the cleats.
